En el marco del programa de charlas de Ingeniería Biomédica de la Universidad San Pablo CEU, el próximo martes 5 de mayo a las 16:30 (hora CEST) se realizará mediante videoconferencia la charla "Towards improving robot-assisted gait training", impartida por Cristina Bayon, investigadora del departamento de Biomechanical Engineering de la Universidad de Twente. Os dejo a continuación un resumen de lacha en inglés:
Robot-assisted gait training (RAGT) is a promising rehabilitation technique that is increasingly used in the clinic to improve walking ability after a neurological disorder. The effectiveness of RAGT might depend on the customization of the robotic therapy and the quality of human-robot interaction. In this presentation I will introduce the different types of robotic devices for gait rehabilitation, and concretely focus on two exoskeletons developed by the University of Twente: the LOPES II gait trainer and the Symbitron exoskeleton. I will talk about some studies carried out with these robotic devices, thought with the final aim of improving robot-assisted gait training.
